On this page you will find some images from my current experiments with 1200 baud APRS Packet Radio for the transmission of realtime Orienteering Data using Sport Ident controls.
My current hardware is based on PICPAC from Byon at www.byonics.com and I am very grateful to Byon for helping me on my way towards a simple plug and play solution. The PixiePAC (that's a play on words from PIC-SI-PAC) contains my own proprietary firmware which reads data from the SI control and sends it as audio to the attached radio transceiver.
Below - Results setup comprises transceiver, PixiePac and standard laptop with SIManager or OESpeaker.
